Starbucks

I work at Starbucks and really do love my job. I love meeting new people and making their day brighter with a cup of coffee. Knowing fun facts about coffee and tea is exciting for me. Starbucks is a really good business to work for not only because it's fun but because they have a bunch of great benefits and opportunities. I wish I would have been hired earlier so that I could have taken advantage of some of the benefits they give college students.

Did you know that if you are a full time Starbucks partner they will help pay for some of your tuition?

If you're a senior in high school, or still in college and need extra help, try working at Starbucks.

My favorite hot drink is a Vanilla Late with and extra pump of Vanilla.

My new favorite cold drink is out Cool Lime Refresher!

Try them.

Writers Block/Pinterest

Having started a blog I feel like I need to write about something everyday. I would love to be one of those people that has all these how-to's and DIY projects. But I'm just not there yet. I might have to become a mom first before my creative juices run wild. Needless to say I am at a loss of what I should be talking about here. What do I have that's so important to share with world?

I thought I would start with sharing some great things that other people came up with that I love. Right now I am very much into home decor. I love the rustic look and repurposing. I find most of my inspiration from Pinterest. Heck that's how I planned my entire wedding.

Here are a few pictures of things that I would love to be in my home someday.

OR

Love this for my kitchen

My dream kitchen would be if I had open cabinets and this beautiful paint color. Or maybe a victorian house all together.

I love this.

Alright so there are just a few. I think my new favorite color is this light turquoise color. I better be careful to not turn everything I have one color. LOL. I already painted a wall mirror like this and our new table got a quick makeover as well it now looks almost exactly like this.

The BRAT diet

So on tuesday night I got sick. It came all of a sudden and was very painful. Yesterday I tried to go to work but had to leave after an hour. Whatever I have comes and goes, and makes me not want to move. Then last night I got a terrible headache to add on to it.

After a good nights sleep I woke up this morning feeling fine, but right when I stood up it started all over again. Needless to say I am now on day two of not going to work and only drinking liquids. Tomorrow I will start the BRAT diet. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. It beats going to the doctors for sure.

With another day off I am going to make banana bread and get a few things done around the house. A blessing in disguise? I think so.

My Life

Hello world! This is my first post on my blog. Never thought of myself as a blogger but here I am. And I'm actually kind of excited.

My name is Joy Gabbert. It's still a little weird seeing "Gabbert" as my last name. I was recently married to the love of my life, Andrew on June 9, 2012. He is my best friend, the spiritual leader of our home, and forever mine. :) Our journey has been exciting so far and I can't wait to see where God takes us. Our wedding was a very small backyard gathering. We had a total of 70ish people there. Everything was homemade and antique. So much fun! It turned out better than I thought it would and resulted in a great marriage.

I currently work as a Barista at our local Starbucks. I love coffee and I love people, so it is a good job. I am however waiting to hear back from my alma mater about an office job. I would be in charge of managing the web site. I really really really want this job! It would be close to home (seeing that we live on campus because I married a younger man), 8-5, 5 days a week, Sundays off, benefits, everything that would be ideal. Please pray that I will get an interview and win them over with my amazing acting skills I learned in college. Or with my credentials. Either one.

Well, that's the short and sweet update on my life at the current moment. Will be back soon with more posts.
